SPRING 2011:
Lease Termination
We held a meeting on February 22, 2011, and voted unanimously to terminate our lease at the Holiday Plaza center. The decision was based upon the annual increase in rent along with the property tax bill we were charged recently. The lease requires a three month notice, so our last Sunday Service at the current location will be May 29, 2011.
New Location
A member has offered to share rental space at 123 W. 8th Street in downtown Lawrence. It is less space, significantly less rent, but it will not be permanently set-up (meaning we will be required to set up and put away at each service). It has softly lit, North facing windows in a historic building, and the location is more pleasing to several members. Our first Sunday Service will be held June 5, 2011.
